Three shooting cases get 2027 trial dates
A federal judge has scheduled a bench trial for the week of Aug. 3, 2027, in the wrongful-death lawsuit brought by Bryan Malinowski’s widow and estate over his fatal shooting during an ATF raid at their Little Rock home in March 2024. The suit alleges federal agents violated Malinowski’s constitutional rights while executing a search warrant; the government maintains the agents acted lawfully, and a judge has allowed most claims to proceed. Malinowski was under investigation for allegedly buying and reselling firearms without a federal dealer’s license, allegations that were not resolved in a criminal trial. The civil case disputes how agents announced themselves, how long they waited before entering and how they identified themselves inside the home.
