Three-State Drug Cases Yield Sentences, Federal Conviction
An Ohio jury convicted Vintrel Cloud, 26, of drug trafficking and possession involving fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine, along with possessing criminal tools, and a judge sentenced him to 13½ to 17½ years in prison and fined him $12,500. Evidence showed Cloud ran two drug houses in Columbus; his defense cited addiction and mental health concerns, while prosecutors pointed to his prior criminal record and sought the maximum sentence. In separate cases, an Oklahoma City man, Edwin Hernandez, was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possessing at least 400 grams of fentanyl for distribution; officers seized four kilograms during a 2022 traffic stop, and Hernandez was apprehended after fleeing while released on bond. A federal jury also convicted Mississippi resident Harvey Savior for participating in a multi-state drug ring that trafficked fentanyl pills into Mississippi, following an investigation that included wiretaps and seizures of drugs and firearms; 18 co-defendants have also been convicted or pleaded guilty.
