Three women remembered in Maine, Massachusetts obituaries

Nancy Lee Wakefield, 83, of South Portland, died Oct. 27, 2026. Remembered for her kindness, Christian faith and devotion to family, she worked as a clerk of the district court and pursued genealogy; she was preceded in death by her husband, John, and daughter Darcy, and is survived by two children and six grandchildren. Nancy J. Hemond, 75, of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, died peacefully at Lowell General Hospital on Oct. 17; she was the wife of the late Joseph E. Hemond. Nancy Jane Smith, born in 1944, died peacefully Oct. 15, and a service honoring her life was scheduled for Nov. 5 at Saint John Church in Winslow.
