Toddler's garden pond death ruled accidental

Isobel Abigail Maxwell, a two-year-old from Doncaster, died after accidentally drowning in her family’s garden pond on Christmas Day, according to an inquest. The hearing found she wandered outside after a door was left open and was subsequently found in the pond by her father, with dogs reportedly in the garden at times and a partially enclosed pond. The family had moved into the home nine months earlier and described it as their “forever home,” with plans to fill in the pond during the summer.
