Tony Ferguson defeated Mahmood Sebie by TKO at 0:42 of Round 2, retaining his Misfits Boxing title at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. The win extended his Misfits record to 3-0 for his first successful title defense. Sebie, a former Olympic wrestler and MMA fighter, stepped in after Kenzo Biyong withdrew during fight week. Ferguson pressed with jabs in Round 1. MiddleEasy and MMA Fighting report he dropped Sebie with a right hand late and Sebie beat the count; Yahoo Sports says Sebie first knocked Ferguson down with a left hook, after which Ferguson dropped him with three unanswered punches. Early in Round 2 Sebie hurt Ferguson and forced him to cover up, then Ferguson trapped Sebie in the corner and unloaded until the referee stopped the fight. Austin McBroom entered the ring post-fight to call out Ferguson. Ferguson said, "I'm gonna be real with you, I don't know what the f*ck it was either," citing his mother’s death a couple of months ago and promising that would not happen when they fight. Henry Cejudo beat Wanna Walton by split decision in the main event.
