Topeka Harley-Davidson Closes After Nearly 80 Years
Towers’ Historic Harley-Davidson in Topeka, Kansas, permanently closed Oct. 28, ending a dealership run that began in 1949. Owner Steven Towers said the decision followed a review of the store’s performance, market conditions and long-term outlook, and would let the group focus resources on stronger growth opportunities. He said the closure is specific to the Topeka location and does not reflect the financial stability or future of the group’s other dealerships. Previously announced plans to move the store to a former movie theater site did not go forward.
