Violence over a territorial dispute between Ethiopia’s Oromia and Somali regional administrations around Moyale has driven tens of thousands of people into Kenya, with estimates rising from 36,000 to about 50,000. Most arrivals are women and children, and humanitarian agencies are providing food, water, shelter and medical care as local communities face mounting pressure.
