Tornado damages homes, topples trees in Santa Fe
A tornado-warned storm moved through midtown Santa Fe around 7 p.m. Saturday, damaging homes and carports, tearing off roofs, and toppling trees near Rancho Siringo, Camino Chueco, and Camino Carlos Rey. The city confirmed significant storm damage and urged residents to stay indoors and avoid the affected area so emergency crews could respond. Officials also warned people to stay away from flooded streets, arroyos, and moving water as additional storms remained possible. No injuries had been reported by late Saturday, and the National Weather Service was expected to make a final determination on whether a tornado touched down.
