Trump announces plans for Cleveland submarine repair center
President Donald Trump announced at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, that Cleveland will host a submarine component repair center. The roughly 46,000-square-foot facility is intended to manufacture, repair and maintain parts for new and existing U.S. submarines. The announcement follows an August memorandum directing officials to identify a site within 90 days and comes as Trump campaigns for Republican candidates ahead of the midterm elections. Cleveland officials had not commented on the plans in one report.
