Trump Says He Uses AI, Refuses Details
President Donald Trump said he uses artificial intelligence but declined to explain how, telling reporters aboard Air Force One that AI can be used “for a lot of things” before adding, “I don’t want to tell you that.” The exchange came as Trump argued that the United States must outpace China in AI, saying the country that wins the technology will prevail. His administration has strongly supported the industry and generally opposed calls for tougher government oversight, while Anthropic and other critics have warned that rapidly advancing autonomous AI could pose serious safety risks. Trump and science adviser David Sacks have characterized some criticism as an effort to justify excessive government control, though figures across both parties—including some Republicans—have called for greater safeguards or clearer plans to address AI’s potential harms.
