Trump Threatens Bombardier With US Market Ban

President Donald Trump threatened to block Canadian private-jet maker Bombardier from selling aircraft in the United States unless it manufactures them domestically, accusing Canada of unfair trade practices and saying more than half of Bombardier’s revenue comes from U.S. customers. The warning came as Canada prepared retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, escalating a broader trade dispute between Washington and Ottawa. It was unclear how the administration could enforce the threat because aircraft certification is handled by the Federal Aviation Administration, and Bombardier’s planes are covered by the USMCA trade agreement.
