Tulsa Opens First Buildings of 106-Unit Hilltop Affordable Housing
The Tulsa Housing Authority has opened the first two buildings of The Hilltop, a 106-unit affordable housing community replacing the former Sunset Plaza Apartments near downtown. The six-building project offers income-based subsidized apartments and workforce units, with rents for the latter starting at $985 a month for a one-bedroom; construction on the remaining buildings is continuing, with completion expected by May 2027. Twenty apartments are reserved for people leaving homelessness, who will also have access to services intended to help them maintain stable housing and move toward independence. The development includes amenities such as in-unit washers and dryers, a gym and resident lounge, and applications are being accepted.
