Twins hire Reith as pitching coach after 4.56 ERA season

The Minnesota Twins hired Brian Reith as pitching coach after moving on from Pete Maki and assistant pitching coach Luis Ramirez, seeking new voices following a season in which the staff posted a 4.56 ERA. Reith spent the past five seasons coaching the Tampa Bay Rays’ Triple-A Durham Bulls, after working his way through the Rays’ minor-league system; the Twins will look to draw on his experience developing pitchers. He previously pitched in parts of three major-league seasons with the Cincinnati Reds. The Twins also promoted Ben Myers, previously a trainer with Triple-A St. Paul, to assistant athletic trainer, replacing Jason Kirkman.
