Two-part Grammy Museum exhibit spotlights Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo opened her new Grammy Museum Los Angeles exhibit, Olivia Rodrigo: The Cure Unraveled, with an intimate September 1 event featuring a conversation with filmmaker Cameron Crowe and an acoustic performance. The two-part installation invites visitors into the world of Rodrigo’s The Cure music video through original sets, conceptual artwork, behind-the-scenes photography, costumes, and interactive experiences, with the public run continuing through February 22, 2027. Rodrigo reflected on her songwriting approach, saying she often can’t fully understand her own feelings until she turns them into songs, and she tied the video’s hospital-like, handmade aesthetics to the track’s theme of love’s emotional unraveling. In the Q&A, she discussed how the success of her earlier albums brought pressure and anxiety while making GUTS, and contrasted that with finding freedom and joy while creating you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. She also described how visiting the Grammy Museum as a teenager inspired her, adding that it felt meaningful to one day be the subject of her own exhibit. An expanded version of the show is planned for early fall, adding previously unseen related artifacts.
