Two Siblings Die in Livingston Parish House Fire

A 65-year-old woman and her 61-year-old brother died in a house fire Saturday morning in Springfield, Livingston Parish. Fire officials said the home did not have a working smoke alarm; the siblings have not been identified. The fire’s cause and origin remain under investigation. Louisiana’s State Fire Marshal urged residents to install working smoke alarms, which can provide time to escape.
