Youth coaches in Texas and Illinois get 50 and 26 years for abuse

Two youth sports coaches were sentenced to lengthy prison terms in separate child sexual abuse cases. In North Texas, Michael Angel Garcia, 37, received 50 years without parole for repeatedly sexually abusing a girl he coached from age 6 to 14; a separate 20-year sentence will run concurrently. The abuse came to light after the girl became pregnant, and DNA testing confirmed Garcia was the father; investigators also cited evidence from his phone before he was arrested while attempting to flee to Mexico. In Illinois, Aydan Trueblood, 23, was sentenced to 26 years for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl he coached after pleading guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault. Prosecutors said the two communicated on Snapchat and that Trueblood admitted to the assault and sending her explicit photographs.
