Farms across the U.S. roll out patriotic and Dolly Parton-themed corn mazes this fall

Fall corn attractions are opening across the United States, offering seasonal entertainment ranging from traditional festivals to elaborate mazes. Sullivan, Indiana’s 70th annual Corn Festival, scheduled for Sept. 16–19, will feature rides, vendors, live music and a turtle derby and is expected to draw about 50,000 visitors. Oklahoma farms are promoting family-friendly and haunted corn mazes alongside hayrides, pumpkin patches, petting zoos, rides and other autumn activities. Nearly two dozen farms in the United States and Canada are planning Dolly Parton-themed mazes, with participating locations donating part of their proceeds to her Imagination Library literacy program. Historic Rural Hill in Huntersville, North Carolina, will host a corn maze and autumn festival from Sept. 5 through Oct. 31, featuring hayrides, Highland cows, a pumpkin patch, food trucks and live music. Farms in several states are also creating patriotic mazes honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary, with designs featuring bald eagles, the Statue of Liberty, military branches and other American symbols.
