UA Police Investigate Fraternity Sexual Assault Allegation
University of Arizona police are investigating a reported sexual assault at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house in the early hours of Aug. 26. The woman told investigators she had been drinking and later woke up partially undressed with men having sex with her; she said she did not remember consenting, and reported a throat bruise and difficulty swallowing. A hospital forensic exam documented findings that investigators said supported some of her allegations. One man acknowledged having sex with her but said she consented, said he was too drunk to clearly remember the night, and disputed that another man was present. The case remains under investigation, and no charges have been reported.
