UBS Reports $2.69 Billion Q3 Profit

UBS reported third-quarter net profit of $2.69 billion, up 8% from a year earlier and close to analysts’ $2.71 billion estimate. Its global wealth-management business attracted $55 billion in net new assets, including strong inflows from Asia and the Americas, while profitability in the Americas improved. UBS said the Credit Suisse integration remains on track to finish by year-end and raised its expected cumulative cost savings by the end of 2026 to about $13.7 billion. The bank also repurchased $1.8 billion of shares during the quarter and now expects to complete its $3 billion buyback program in February. Its future buybacks remain tied to Switzerland’s proposed tougher capital rules, which UBS says must safeguard financial stability without imposing excessive costs on the bank and its stakeholders.
