UCLA QB Iamaleava Out for Season
UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava will miss the rest of the season after suffering a severe knee injury against Oregon on Oct. 10 and undergoing surgery, coach Bob Chesney said. Iamaleava was hurt when his leg twisted during a tackle; he briefly returned before leaving the game for good. Backup Ty Dieffenbach has taken over, helping the ninth-ranked Bruins beat Oregon and Wisconsin, and is expected to remain the starter. Iamaleava’s next step is uncertain: he could return to college in 2027 or consider the NFL draft while recovering from the injury.
