Uganda Requires DRC Returnees to Quarantine 21 Days at Own Expense
Uganda is requiring citizens returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo to quarantine for 21 days at their own expense as the Ebola outbreak spreads in the region. The government has tightened screening at airports and land borders, restricted travel to essential crossings, and barred travelers with a history of travel to the DRC from transiting through Uganda. Uganda says it has no confirmed cases since declaring its outbreak over and is working with Nigerian authorities and international partners to investigate how a woman who traveled from Uganda to Nigeria contracted the virus. Kenya and Nigeria have also reported cases, heightening regional concern.
