Man Charged With Recording Sex Video Without Consent

A 19-year-old man, Alexander Michael Evanoff, was arrested after allegedly recording a sexual encounter with a UNC Charlotte student without her consent and sharing the video in a Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity group chat. Police say he admitted to recording and distributing the video, and court documents allege he acknowledged he had not obtained the woman’s permission. Evanoff faces two felony counts of secret peeping and one count of disclosing private images; he was released on $10,000 bond and is due back in court in November. The university said Evanoff is not currently enrolled and called the alleged conduct reprehensible.
