Union rout Cincinnati 5-0, extend unbeaten run to nine
The Philadelphia Union routed 10-man FC Cincinnati 5-0 in Chester, extending their unbeaten MLS run to nine games and moving into eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Bruno Damiani recorded his first MLS hat trick, while Quinn Sullivan and Milan Iloski converted penalty kicks. Cincinnati midfielder Obinna Nwobodo was sent off after a video review upgraded an early yellow card for a studs-up foul on Frankie Westfield. Cavan Sullivan assisted on all three of Damiani’s goals, and he and his brother Quinn started together in an MLS match for the first time. Philadelphia dominated after the red card, holding 64.7% possession and outshooting Cincinnati 19-1, while goalkeeper Andre Blake secured the Union’s fifth clean sheet.
