Uniper agrees to buy 40,000 tonnes of eSAF yearly from Danish project

Uniper has agreed to buy 40,000 metric tons of synthetic sustainable aviation fuel annually for more than a decade from Arcadia eFuels’ planned Endor facility in Vordingborg, Denmark, with deliveries expected to begin in the early 2030s. The companies say the agreement—one of the largest announced eSAF offtake deals to date—could help secure financing and build a European market for lower-emission aviation fuel, a potential tool for an industry that is difficult to decarbonize. The contracted volume represents nearly half of Endor’s planned annual capacity of about 80,000 metric tons, leaving Arcadia to find buyers for the remainder. The project has completed front-end engineering design but had not yet reached a final investment decision, raising questions about whether it can be built in time to meet the stated delivery schedule.
