Universal Parks Revenue Falls 4.4%, Earnings Drop 17%

Comcast reported that Universal’s theme parks generated about $2.6 billion in third-quarter 2026 revenue, down 4.4% year over year, while adjusted EBITDA fell 17.1% to $780 million. The company attributed the decline to softer demand and lower admissions, increased promotions, macroeconomic and geopolitical pressures, and competitors’ quicker marketing responses; it also cited capacity and ride-throughput challenges at Epic Universe. Orlando and Japan were named as sources of continued pressure, and the comparison was especially difficult because the year-earlier quarter included Epic Universe’s opening period. Comcast expects softer demand and tough comparisons to persist into the first half of 2027, with a return to growth anticipated in the second half, while maintaining confidence in the parks’ long-term prospects; management said Orlando attendance and guest spending remain above levels from two years ago.
