Universal plans Earl balloon for Macy’s 100th parade

Universal Orlando’s Earl the Squirrel will make the resort’s first-ever balloon appearance in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 26, 2026. The balloon, depicting Earl in his signature winter hat with a blue Christmas light, will be accompanied by performers and a dancing acorn, then join Universal’s holiday parade in Florida. The character grew from a real squirrel that chewed Christmas-tree lights at the park into a seasonal tradition, with a hidden figurine, merchandise and a costumed character. Universal’s announcement gives the homegrown holiday mascot a national spotlight and marks a new chapter in its collaboration with Macy’s.
