US sanctions Cuban officials, oil shippers and China telecom supplier
The United States announced new Cuba-related sanctions and a determination that could enable further restrictions on the island’s electronics, manufacturing, maritime and technology sectors. The measures target Cuban officials and state-linked businesses, companies connected to oil shipping, two vessels, and suppliers including a China-based telecommunications firm. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the administration is seeking to disrupt what it describes as the Cuban government’s use of state resources and offshore networks to benefit military leaders and support hostile actors.
