School Districts Probe Social Media Threats in Multiple States
Authorities and school districts in several communities responded to social-media threats, with investigations and precautionary security measures underway. In South Mississippi, districts serving Gulfport, Harrison and Jackson counties said they were working with law enforcement to assess a circulating threat; in Baltimore County, police investigated a message targeting Woodlawn High School and later said it was not credible, while arranging additional resources. Separately, Hagerman police in New Mexico concluded that a reported threat against Hagerman High School was not credible, although the school provided added security and some parents kept students home.
