US Gas Prices Fall Five Cents Before Halloween
The U.S. average for regular gasoline fell five cents in the past week to $4.22 per gallon ahead of Halloween, but remains substantially higher than a year ago. Crude oil prices above $100 a barrel are limiting further relief at the pump. Prices also eased in several states: Texas averaged $3.70 per gallon, Nevada $5.25 and Vermont $4.34. AAA says seasonal demand typically declines in November and December, though prices remain volatile. The organization also urged drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and watch for children and pedestrians during Halloween festivities.
