Buc-ee’s Travel Center Joins Health and Housing Projects in Four States
Buc-ee’s is preparing to build its first Louisiana travel center in Lafayette, a 74,000-square-foot site with 120 fueling positions that is expected to create at least 200 full-time jobs. In Boston, Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center plans a three-story facility that will more than double its space, expand primary and specialty care, and add radiology and substance-use treatment services. Orlando’s Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is building a 105,000-square-foot Center for Women and Families, adding shelter and bridge-housing beds, a health clinic, and family services to increase capacity by 40% to 50%. In Portland, Maine, Youth and Family Outreach is developing a combined child-care, housing, and family-services site expected to double child-care capacity to 110 children and add 60 homes, including 48 affordable units.
