USPS Issues Second Diwali Forever Stamp
The U.S. Postal Service unveiled its 2026 Diwali Forever stamp at the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., with Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra and USPS officials participating. The stamp features a rangoli design by Houston-based artist Sangeetha (Sangita) Bhutada, decorated with diyas to represent Diwali’s celebration of light over darkness. It is only the second USPS stamp honoring Diwali, after the first was issued in 2016; USPS said 20 million copies have been printed. Kwatra and USPS representatives described the release as a way to recognize Diwali’s cultural significance and connect Indian American and broader U.S. communities.
