Utah Data Center Protester Thrown Down, Arrested

A video of Utah County sheriff’s deputies forcibly removing and arresting protester Aspen Azalea at a public meeting has sparked outrage and calls for accountability. The incident followed a vote advancing rules for data centers, after officials moved to remove demonstrators who were chanting in protest. The sheriff’s office says Azalea made contact with a deputy’s groin as he tried to escort her out; Azalea denies striking him and says the force used against her caused injuries, including a jaw injury and concussion. She was briefly jailed and later sought medical care, while supporters have rallied against the deputy’s actions.
