Utah State Plans Campus-Wide Pixelated Sculpture Exhibition
Across several projects, artists and communities are bringing visual creativity into new settings. A Utah State University exhibition will place Mike Whiting’s brightly colored, video-game-inspired steel sculptures across campus, inviting visitors to consider how digital aesthetics shape their experience of the outdoors. In Niagara-on-the-Lake, students and local businesses are helping build an outdoor installation honoring the region’s agricultural roots. Kansas’ Art on the Trail offers visitors an outdoor gathering with local artists, crafts and opportunities to make art, while a personal essay describes one creator’s effort to develop pixel-art skills for a larger science-fiction world-building project.
