VA completes EHR rollout serving 163,000 veterans
The Department of Veterans Affairs completed its 2026 rollout of the Oracle Health electronic health record at 13 hospitals, most recently bringing the system to facilities in Cleveland and Anchorage and 16 associated clinics. The latest deployments cover more than 163,000 veterans and 7,800 staff, while more than 780,000 veterans and 42,000 VA clinicians and staff nationwide now use the federal system. VA says the shared record is intended to improve continuity of care and information-sharing among VA, military and other providers, including reducing duplicate tests. After pausing most deployments in 2023 to address reliability, usability and patient-safety concerns, the department plans to expand to 26 hospitals in 2027 and aims to reach every VA facility by 2031.
