Vacheron Leads Luxury Watch Resale Gains
Luxury goods showed strength across watches and resale markets in 2026, though performance varied by brand and category. Swiss watch exports rose, while a luxury-watch ranking highlighted Rolex’s technical standards and major new releases from Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe. On the secondary market, watch prices rose steadily for a fourth consecutive quarter, led by Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe, while Rolex edged down. Resale values also increased for several prominent designer bags and a Cartier bracelet, including a reported 127% gain for one vintage bag. At the same time, analysts warned that luxury companies’ reliance on affluent shoppers could leave them vulnerable if a downturn in AI-driven stock wealth weakens high-income consumers’ spending.
