Vallarta Opens 66th Duarte Store, Adds 200 Jobs
Vallarta Supermarkets opened its 66th store in Duarte on Oct. 21, converting a former Best Buy into a 45,839-square-foot grocery destination that is expected to create about 200 jobs. The opening drew large crowds, and the company also donated $10,000 to local schools and charities. The store features fresh and prepared Mexican and Latin American foods, including in-house tortillas, bakery and seafood counters, and the chain’s first SushiOro department. Separately, Vallarta is preparing to open its first Bay Area location at San Jose’s The Plant shopping center before the end of 2026; the 63,700-square-foot store could add up to 200 jobs as part of the company’s broader expansion.
