Valor Energy agrees to $3.6 million Youngstown computing site acquisition
Valor Energy has agreed to acquire the company that owns an operational computing facility at 1911 Logan Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio, for $3.6 million, as it expands from automobile services into digital infrastructure. The approximately 30,888-square-foot site has 18 MVA of apparent power capacity through an existing Ohio Edison interconnection, which Valor says may help accelerate development, though that capacity does not necessarily equal usable data-center IT load. Valor plans to convert the facility to serve AI and high-performance computing workloads, but additional design, construction, equipment, permitting and financing are needed, and completion of the acquisition remains subject to due diligence and other closing conditions. Investors responded positively to the announcement, with the company’s shares reportedly rising in premarket trading, although its financial profile remains a concern.
