Vandalism Grounds Entire Schenectady School Bus Fleet

Severe vandalism at Durham School Services’ Schenectady bus depot disabled the contractor’s entire fleet, preventing morning routes on Tuesday and disrupting transportation for students across the district. Police were notified early that morning and are investigating; officials believe the damage occurred over the holiday weekend. Schools remained open, and families who could were urged to drive, carpool or walk students to class. The district arranged backup transportation through other vendors for afternoon routes, with some delays, while after-school activities continued as scheduled.
