Vehicle Fires Disrupt Highways Across Four Regions
Several fires disrupted traffic on highways in the United States and the U.K. A power-pole fire closed both directions of U.S. 26 in Washington County, Oregon, while utility crews replaced damaged lines; the outage also halted MAX trains near Sunset Transit Center, with shuttle buses provided. Vehicle fires blocked lanes and caused delays on eastbound I-4 in Orlando, southbound M6 near Kendal in England, and I-70 near State Route 4 in Ohio. A vehicle fire also shut down northbound I-85 near Greenville over the weekend. No injuries were reported in the Orlando incident, while details about the causes and impacts of several other fires were not available.
