Venture Global signs deals with GE Vernova, Baker Hughes for power units
Venture Global signed agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes covering equipment for up to 16 new 720-megawatt power-island units, expanding its grid-independent gas-fired power network. The company says the units could support up to 10 gigawatts of data-center computing capacity by 2034, depending on customer commitments and market demand, and expects to order the first unit by the end of 2026. A separate reservation agreement covers eight of the remaining units, with purchase orders anticipated to begin in 2027. The off-grid expansion builds on 4.5 gigawatts of generation at Venture Global’s LNG facilities; the company says potential data-center projects would complement, not replace or disrupt, its LNG business.
