Veterans Day Events Planned Across Communities

Communities across the country are planning Veterans Day observances, including parades, memorial ceremonies, services and gatherings honoring those who served. In North Carolina’s Cape Fear region, parades are scheduled in Wilmington and Whiteville on Nov. 7. St. Cloud, Florida, will hold a Nov. 7 parade preceded by a veterans’ ruck, followed by a resource fair offering benefits, education and employment information and other services. Sullivan County, New York, listings include a Veterans Shabbat, a Woodbourne parade, ceremonies and services in several towns, and a veterans’ dinner. In Dresden, New York, the Town of Torrey’s Nov. 11 memorial service will feature a Gettysburg Address recitation and a flag ceremony; the free event is open to the public.
