Veterans Programs Receive Grants Across Regions
Several organizations are receiving new funding to expand support for veterans and their families. In Illinois, a $50,000 state grant funded by lottery proceeds will allow the Voluntary Action Center to add veterans on its Meals on Wheels waiting list, as part of nearly $500,000 in quarterly grants for veteran-serving organizations statewide. Hamilton County, Tennessee, secured nearly $1 million in federal funding to expand its Veterans Treatment Court, which provides treatment and support for veterans involved in the justice system. In East Sussex, England, a $1,500 foundation donation will help a veterans’ hub develop its community center, including housing, counseling and activity spaces.
