Vext Closes Ohio Dispensary Amid Health-Event Probe

Vext Science has voluntarily closed its Herbal Wellness Center dispensary in Jackson, Ohio, at the request of the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control while the agency investigates two serious adverse health events involving people who may have purchased products there. The company says regulators have not provided details about the individuals, products or circumstances and that no substantiated evidence currently links its products to either incident. Vext is cooperating with the investigation, submitting product samples for independent testing and quarantining certain product lines at its Ohio retail and manufacturing facilities, although the inventory had previously passed required state laboratory tests. The company’s other five Ohio dispensaries and its cultivation facility remain open and are not currently subject to the inquiry.
