Team Liquid, TSW face do-or-die matches to stay alive at Worlds 2026
Team Liquid swept Anyone's Legend and LOS swept Team Secret Whales, leaving both at 1-2 to face each other Friday with the loser out.

Caedrel posted a YouTube video titled "DO OR DIE - TL TAKE ON AL & TSW TAKE ON LOS TO SURVIVE AT WORLDS 2026." The title cast Monday’s Swiss Stage series as elimination tests for Team Liquid and Team Secret Whales at the League of Legends World Championship.
Sergey Demidov reported that Team Liquid swept Anyone’s Legend 2-0 that day. Liquid took Game 1 in about 33 minutes at 16-5 in kills. Game 2 ran about 47 minutes; kills finished 18-18, yet Liquid secured both Barons and 11 towers to three. Anyone’s Legend left the tournament at 0-3.
LOS swept Team Secret Whales 2-0 in the other elimination best-of-three and made TSW the first side eliminated from Worlds 2026. Yeonjae “Arra” Shin of Inven Global wrote that Game 1 lasted nearly 40 minutes. TSW led after laning, Shin reported, before LOS won a Baron teamfight to take the map. In Game 2, Shin wrote, TSW overcommitted at a Scuttle Crab skirmish and dumped abilities onto Curse’s Trundle, who had his ultimate ready. Duduhh’s Ashe was later erased by a Vi-Miss Fortune ultimate combo, briefly cutting LOS’s lead, before LOS won a teamfight at the third dragon and closed with Baron buff. Demidov put the second map at about 37 minutes and 22-13 in kills.
Those wins left Liquid and LOS at 1-2. Demidov and Bruno Rodrigues both reported they meet Friday at 4 p.m. ET in another elimination best-of-three. The loser is finished at three defeats. The winner still needs one more victory in Round 5 to reach the knockout stage.
Dplus KIA and Gen.G had already clinched the first quarterfinal berths on Sunday at 3-0, Demidov reported. Dplus KIA swept Movistar KOI in 39 minutes on red side and 25 minutes on blue side. Sin “Smash” Geum-jae finished 13-2-5 and scored Worlds 2026’s first pentakill on Kai’Sa in Game 1, a mark Strafe recorded. Gen.G beat LYON 2-1 after dropping the opener; Kim “Kiin” Ki-in earned MVP honors on a 10-4-16 line, while Kang “Saint” Seong-in went 12-5-9 for LYON. In the day’s best-of-ones, Invictus Gaming beat Hanwha Life Esports in 29 minutes behind Zi “JiaQi” Jiaqi’s 12-4-6, and Top Esports beat G2 Esports in 36 minutes with Yu “JackeyLove” Wenbo at 7-2-8. On Monday, Demidov added, T1 beat CTBC Flying Oyster in about 27 minutes at 14-6, and Bilibili Gaming beat Karmine Corp in about 36 minutes at 14-11 with the game’s only Baron.
Round 4 is all best-of-threes. Demidov’s schedule lists Movistar KOI versus T1 on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET and LYON versus Invictus Gaming at 7 p.m.; CTBC Flying Oyster versus Karmine Corp and Bilibili Gaming versus Top Esports on Thursday; then Liquid versus LOS at 4 p.m. ET Friday and G2 versus Hanwha Life at 7 p.m. Six teams sit at 2-1 and play for direct quarterfinal spots. The six at 1-2 face elimination. Spilled carried the Caedrel Updates account’s Oct. 26 reaction to the 1-2 draw: “OH MY GOD EU JUST GOT ONE OF THE WORST DRAWS POSSIBLE / G2 vs HLE AND MKOI vs T1 LMFAOOOOOOOO.” The Swiss Stage runs through Oct. 31 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. Quarterfinals begin Nov. 3. The grand final is Nov. 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. On Polymarket as of 3 a.m. ET Tuesday, Demidov reported Gen.G as title favorite at about 43 percent, T1 near 15 percent, and Team Liquid priced below 1 percent. The champion receives $1 million of the $5 million prize pool.
