There’s a strange Michael Jordan theory taking over the internet and the more you watch his old highlights, the weirder they start to look. A viral clip of MJ reaching for a basketball recently had fans questioning the footage because his arm appeared to stretch an almost impossible distance, adding fuel to posts claiming Jordan’s movements sometimes look more like a video game or AI than a real human being. Of course, there’s no evidence Michael Jordan wasn’t completely real, but his ridiculous athleticism, hang time, body control, huge hands and seemingly impossible finishes have made old-school Bulls footage perfect for this creepy internet theory. And somehow his real life gets even stranger: when Jordan was only around five or six years old, he accidentally struck his big toe with an axe while chopping wood barefoot, an accident that left him missing part of the toe. Barack Obama even told the story while awarding Jordan the Presidential Medal of Freedom, joking that basketball history could have looked completely different if the accident had been worse.
