Florida 3-year-old escorted off soccer field after skill complaints
A Florida league removed the dominant 3-year-old from a 5U match and called police after his parents protested, bodycam and family accounts differ.

ABC7 posted a YouTube video under the title "Police called on 3-year-old soccer player for being "too good."" The channel's own description says a Florida mom reports her 3-year-old is so advanced he plays with 5-year-olds, and that complaints about his skills and alleged ball-hogging led to him being escorted off the field.
ABC7 Los Angeles reported that the boy is Nevada, age 3, and that his family has him competing against older children. The family said other parents complained Saturday that Nevada was too skilled and did not pass the ball enough. According to the family, league officials then asked him to leave the league. The dispute escalated. A league official called police. Winter Park police responded and escorted the family away from the field.
OutKick published a competing account the next day. Joe Kinsey's story, posted October 27 at 12:36 p.m. EDT, said bodycam footage shows police were called over the parents' disruptive behavior, not the child's skill level. Kinsey reported that a league official pulled the unusually dominant 3-year-old off the pitch during a 5U match to give other children a chance to touch the ball. That decision, the director told officers, sparked an immediate disturbance with the boy's parents.
An unidentified i9 Sports league director spoke on the bodycams. "So he scored a lot of goals, but he pushed the kids to do that, all that stuff. So I tried to tell him. Hey, stop!" the director said, according to OutKick. "Don't let him push. Don't want to play with pushing. Right. So a few weeks ago there was like six kids on the team anyway. I swapped the kids out. Right? Because he's so good. Take him out. They don't like that. Tell me I'm ignorant. I'm this, I'm that." The director said there was more pushing by the 3-year-old on Saturday. He got involved. The boy's parents then created a "big scene" and argued with other parents, he told police. That is when law enforcement was dispatched to escort the family from the park. The incident date is given as October 24, 2026.
Martasia Griffin, Nevada's mother, has kept a different framing on a GoFundMe that has raised more than $25,000. "On October 24, 2026, during a game with i9 Sports in Winter Park, Florida, Nevada went through an experience no child his age should have to endure," she wrote. "He was removed from the game because of concerns about his skill level, and the situation escalated to the point that law enforcement was called. At just 3 years old, Nevada could not understand why he was being taken away from a game he loved. What should have been a happy childhood moment became heartbreaking and distressing for him and deeply painful for our family to witness." She added: "As his mother, it has been incredibly hard to see the emotional impact this has had on him. We believe every child, regardless of abilities, background, or potential, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and enjoy the game they love in a safe and supportive environment."
