The Story Behind “YOU LIKE THAT?!”

Kirk Cousins turned one of the most iconic celebrations in NFL history into a phrase that has followed him for more than a decade. “YOU LIKE THAT?!” was born back in 2015 after Cousins led Washington back from a 24-point deficit against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, completing one of the biggest comebacks in franchise history before screaming the now-legendary line on his way to the locker room. From an overlooked fourth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to becoming a four-time Pro Bowler and one of the NFL’s most productive quarterbacks of his generation, Cousins has thrown for more than 44,000 career yards while playing for Washington, the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and now the Las Vegas Raiders. At 38 years old, Captain Kirk is writing another chapter in 2026, winning the Raiders starting job and helping Las Vegas open the season 3-0 before throwing for 365 yards and two touchdowns in a thriller against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. From hilarious commercials bringing back “You Like That?” to telling the real story behind the viral moment, all the way to making plays in Silver and Black years later, Kirk Cousins’ NFL journey has come full circle.
