Vikings’ Jennings Rejects Trade Return to 49ers
The 49ers and Vikings worked out a framework for a trade that could have returned receiver Jauan Jennings to San Francisco, but the deal required the 49ers to speak with him before proceeding. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Jennings told him during a FaceTime call that he was happy in Minnesota and preferred to stay, and Shanahan agreed with his decision; San Francisco general manager John Lynch said the team wanted to clarify Jennings’ potential role and expectations. The talks came as the 49ers were dealing with injuries at receiver, while Jennings had caught just six passes for 54 yards in six games with the Vikings. Despite his limited production, Jennings will remain in Minnesota.
