Villanova’s 7-foot-3 Suigo Expected to Debut in Rome
Villanova freshman center Luigi Suigo, a 7-foot-3 prospect nicknamed the “Italian Wemby,” says he did not give himself the comparison to Victor Wembanyama and considers it an honor while stressing he is not yet like the NBA star. Suigo’s size and shooting touch make him a highly regarded addition as Villanova seeks another NCAA Tournament appearance. He is set to make his college debut against Notre Dame in Rome, where he can play in his home country, though his hometown near Milan is about 400 miles away. Suigo, who helped Italy win silver at the FIBA U17 World Cup and played professionally in Serbia, has also been sharing Italian customs with his teammates during the trip.
