Virginia Districts List Weeklong Roadwork, Lane Closures

Virginia transportation officials forecast roadwork and traffic impacts across several districts for the week of Oct. 23–31, with schedules subject to weather and change. The Salem District alert covers routine paving, surface treatments, pavement markings and other maintenance across 12 counties; drivers can check 511 Virginia for current conditions. In the Fredericksburg District, overnight I-95 lane closures are planned for bridge washing, pavement-marker installation, soil sampling and paving, alongside work on Route 1 and other roads. Additional projects include bridge replacements and intersection improvements that require detours, temporary traffic patterns or intermittent lane closures, as well as nighttime paving and bridge repairs on Route 460. Motorists should allow extra time, follow posted signs and check the relevant weekly alerts before traveling.
